Scrambled data

Description

They say there's a strange, completely unidentified Pokemon on the shores of Cinnibar Island. It causes electronics to malfunction and grants wishes, but in the end drives people insane. Trainers have tried to find it, capture it, but they end up getting hospitalised for insanity. Little escape to potentially fatal 'glitch virus' but those who do become mumbling idiots who speak in riddles and can only remember this 'MissingNo' Pokemon as a unrecognisable piece of data in their memories; a blank space filled with disrupted information.

I took in as many accounts and information I could get, and what I've just stated is it all. The 'glitch' only uses water gun and sky attack yet isn't a water pokemon at all.

I searched for this Missingno on the island shores after speaking to an old man who directed me back in Viridian City. And for a moment I thought I saw the creature, its form etched into my memory but I blacked out.

I woke up in hospital, scared and in hysterics, but came back to my senses only to realise that I couldn't remember anything. The image in my head just slowly disappearing into darkness and being replaced by scrambled data...

-Professor Nori

Something quick I wrote up, my interpretation of the little data block of a Pokemon. Took a while to design. For =mssingno's competition!

The real reason people don't respect Missingno is that Missingno is truth.  We can't or don't want to imagine that something like Missingno could exist in real life.  But very probably something like Missingno, even in its weirdest and most eldritch conceptions (like a funny shaped congomeries of patterns roughly in the shape of a backwards L) probably does exist; reality is much broader and more amazing and more frightening than most people can comprehend. Much easier to treat it as a glitch not worthy of intellectual consideration.
